I’m Rian Griffin, a Counselling Therapist with a Master’s in Counselling from Gonzaga University. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) as well as a member of the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA).
I’ve worked in education as a teacher and school counsellor, and supported teens and adults through work stress, career transitions, and life changes. I’ve also worked in addictions counselling and continue to expand my learning in areas like grief and loss, motivation, existential and spiritual concerns, family systems, and performance.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that suffering is a part of life that can be endured, understood, and integrated. By making meaning of past experiences, we can gain clarity in the present and open the way for a more purposeful future. I work collaboratively with clients to explore what matters most, build resilience, and take meaningful steps forward in their lives. Therapy is a collaborative process—a place to reflect, gain perspective, and identify practical ways to move forward.
Choosing a therapist can be a daunting task. It’s important to feel understood and safe, and to work with someone whose approach resonates with you. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to explore whether I might be a good fit for you.
